Feds seek public input on hacker sentencing
Kevin Poulsen, SecurityFocus 2003-01-13

Sick and tired of a revolving door justice system that lets hackers skate with just a few measly years in prison? Or do you think that the courts are already too hard on online miscreants who sometimes go up the creek for longer than many killers?

I'm with Mr. Smith. Some of the more liberal comments remind me of skiing this weekend. I sat beside two teenagers who were discussing their shoplifting habits. One asked the other, "Do you feel bad about it?" The other's reply was, "Well, if I took a shirt and then, didn't like it and didn't wear it, I'd feel bad about that." It seems to me that in our society, there are no consequences for what people do because everyone is too darned afraid to make people accountable. Two things we need is responsibility and accountability!!
