Feds seek public input on hacker sentencing
Kevin Poulsen, SecurityFocus 2003-01-13

Sick and tired of a revolving door justice system that lets hackers skate with just a few measly years in prison? Or do you think that the courts are already too hard on online miscreants who sometimes go up the creek for longer than many killers?

BOOTLEG
Why doesn't the commission simply go to a Hacker Convention and speak as a panel to the audience asking these questions.

They can even set up at a vendors booth to talk to people.

I for one am surely interested in asking them why they don't INCREASE the penalties to "Life" for any government official, employee, politician or persons, etc. that receive public money in any form, to LIFE in a SUPERMAX.

If they are Federal employees or politicians, enhance it to

DEATH.

Arrest them for Treason and Terrorism if they "LIE" to anyone and LOCK them up at that military base in Cuba

WITHOUT bail, WITHOUT being able to talk to anyone or an attorney. Never let them go to court unless its a SECRET Military court or simply just NEVER allow them to go to court nor even know why they are being held FOREVER!

This can easily be done under this the Patriot Law and HomeLand Security Powers simply by stating any public official or politician that lies is committing an act of TERRORISM and TREASON against the USA.

They are classifying almost EVERYTHING under terrorism laws so why not also include the above.

I for one won't mind being subjected to tolitarian laws and stripped of my rights IF they pass the above law covering their own actions also!

If the government now wants to lock up kids for a little mischievious hacking that in prior years never rated more than a spanking by Dad or at most probation, CERTAINLY we should make lieing by anyone receiving government money an offense far more severe than hacking. When government employees, law enforcement agents, judges and politicians LIE to us in their official capacity, they are BETRAYING the public trust and subverting the very cornerstones of American Liberties and everything good America stands for. This is HIGH TREASON against our country and an act of extreme TERRORISM that does far more damage to America than any fanatic with a bomb!

This Patriot Act is an example of TERRORISM against the American people by our own government that does far more damage to us than a hundred 911 incidents could have done.

After the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor did we pass a whole series of draconian laws that dismantle the Bill of Rights like we did after 911 ? NO! We went to war. We lost many more Americans by going to war. BUT....we did NOT pass laws that weakened our society by taking away our civil rights.

One more law should be in these pages: Every branch of government should have oversight by civilian review panels with unlimited access and sweeping powers including arrest and special prosecution of government employees/politicians that they find lieing or committing any other act against the law or against their civil duty to the citizens. Lets have normal citizens selected by random voter registration lists like jurors are, to staff civilian review panels EVERYWHERE within government. Lets also give them the right to set up secret surveillance everywhere to watch, listen and peek at every single communication or thing government employees do, say, write, email and even watch them outside of work in their every action!

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO US! So lets make laws that subject them to the citizens of the land that simply does not allow them to lie, cheat, rob or deceive the people they are paid to serve anymore!

Certainly they should welcome the citizens review panel and a law classifying lies by gov employees/politicians as extreme acts of terrorism and treason, punishable by life for the 1st act and death for a subsequent act. This would enable us to once again trust our government and they would again start working for the people instead of being paid puppets of rich corporations.
