I agree, for the most part. Microsoft has the burden of having to market its product to EVERYONE (not that they HAVE to but, i makes good buisness sense) I would suggest more of a segregation of microsoft products, by ALL means implement the restrictions you want to implement

but dont force my grandfather, who is JUST learning how to email, to use something as cryptic as your byproduct of microsoft filtration (a simple hypothetical). we ALL know microsofts systems have MANY MANY problems, but for many PC users these security risks and flaws are a small price to pay for the convenience of an operating system like windows. Segregate the OS's.

and you have ALWAYS had a choice, there are other operating systems that have already implemented the suggestions you have made

if you would like to use them, you can, and for much less money (in some cases).
