In australia the current laws for computer releated crime's, if you are found and convicted of a computer crime you can face a min. of 12 years of prison, depending of the crime, This and the arrest of T0rn is a good example of law makers simply do not understanding the digital enviroment.The people who make the laws (not just in Australia) need to understand the complex digital enviroment, I am sure that a judge wouldn't even know what the OSI refrence model is. If this is so, why are they creating the laws for this enviroment.
