It's a good idea, but it won't do any good for the "internet at large".

Let's face it, most IT folks don't give a rat's ass about patching or securing their systems. Strikeback or something like it will just give them another reason to place security/patching of their systems on the backburner.


I can just hear 'em now...." I'm not worried about that new xyz worm, so I'll apply that patch later. I got Strikeback running in the meantime as does everyone else who cares about their network's security!!"


Just Secure your networks,patch your systems and you won't have to worry about that nasty little worm or debating the need for strikeback like tools.
