You haven't seen evidence of IT fighting back because they really don't have to. They consider this a joke, and it is. Assume for a moment that this bill actually does pass. It won't, but lets assume that it does. Do you really think that major powers like Intel and MS will actually abide by it? Hell no.

At first they are likely to just ignore it, Intel and AMD aren't just going to start building copy protection into CPUs you know, it'll be business as usual. If the government trys to intervene, THEN the bill would be opposed, and likely struck down. Or the big companys would just move their headquarters to the UK where they don't have to put up with this crap.

What the bill says we won't import non copyprotected products? Yeah we can just do without CPUs and operating systems then...
