The role is primarily responsible for the rapid development of utilities for supporting ongoing research and vulnerability analysis. This includes rapidly developing protocol parsers, fuzzers, test suites, IDA/WinDBG/OllyDBG plug-ins, or other utilities for automating day-to-day VRT related activities. Additional responsibilities include code audits, peer code reviews, unit test creation, and proof of concept development activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Perform code audits and peer code reviews * Develop utilities for Vulnerability Research Team * Create unit tests for Snort and in house tools * Research and implement tools for decoding complex network protocols * Rapidly implement software prototypes * Rapidly implement software and protocol fuzzers |
| Job Requirements: |
Education and Work Experience * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience * 3+ Year of C and PERL experience Required Knowledge and Skills * TCP/IP Networking experience * Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills * Experience performing software audits * Ability to learn new skills and apply them in a rapidly changing, high pressure environment Preferred Knowledge and Skills * Experience with Snort & other network security tools * Experience using Test Driven Development & other XP methodologies * Windows, BSD, Linux development experience Work Conditions * Works closely with software reverse engineers and develop tools and utilities to assist in reaching common goals quickly and efficiently. * Moderate to high levels of stress may occur at times * Fast paced and rapidly changing environment * Extremely talented and experienced team members and mentors Please note- this is located out of our Headquarters in Columbia MD. We are willing to relocate for the right individual. |
